About Siglinde Angerer

Siglinde is a registered Nurse, Midwife and has qualifications in Maternal and Child Health. She’s a professional with extensive experience in education, both academic and clinical — specifically in providing support for nurses. She also has experience working with marginalised groups in the health and development space.

As a nursing professional working in the community sector, with a focus on a social model of health and a deep commitment to reflective practice and relational support to families, Siglinde has invested a great deal of time over the years in building a solid knowledge base,
but professional growth comes from asking harder, more reflective questions. This is the answer that drives her to knowing who she is as a practitioner.

Throughout her career, she has worked with many organisations in local government as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse. In addition to this, she has also worked for five years in remote and isolated communities across Australia, including immigration detention on Christmas Island.

Siglinde developed Steps in Education to provide learning and reflective tools that transform knowledge, helping individuals and groups to become more thoughtful, intentional and confident in their practice.

Indigenous health workers caring for families to assist them in monitoring the growth and development of children within the community, specifically focusing on 0-5 years.
